Sweet Dividends

I believe that my fifth stock will produce a very nice total return for us over the next year or two. Primarily, because the famed soft drink maker is likely to report faster earnings growth. Additionally, it pays an attractive 2.6% dividend, which the company has sweetened 36 years in a row.

Further bolstering shareholder returns, it regularly buys back stock, with $4.3 billion of repurchases slated for 2008. Unlike some firms, whose buybacks merely offset dilution caused by employee stock options, the company’s program has retired shares, on a net basis, in each of the past six years.
