Buy This Doubler Before Labor Day

One of the most disruptive game changing events in business today is the switch from P.C.s to mobile, always-on, available-anywhere devices. Or, as they used to be called, phones.

The 3-G technology, the iPhone, and all of that is not just a fancy ring tone on a sleek gadget. It's a revolution.

You've surely heard that India is riding out of poverty. What you haven't heard is that they're doing it on a cell phone. And that Africa is riding in India's wake. And that the cell phone in question belongs to Nokia. Which is just one of many reasons Nokia (NOK) is set to double.

This revolution is actually a social revolution that reaches from your teenage granddaughter in the local mall to an 80-year-old fisherman off the coast of Senegal. Consider these examples:

• What's the price of mangoes today? A vegetable seller 270 miles outside Mumbai can know directly from the wholesaler, and adjust his price to compete more efficiently with other stalls in the market. Nokia's there.

• Can I pay for that by phone? Cell phones that scan the product's barcode and debit your account are becoming commonplace in Europe. Nokia's there.

• Where am I? And where's the nearest Starbucks? Nokia's recent $8.1 billion purchase of navigation data-provider Navteq is there, too, and about to rake in Google-sized ad revenues.
