PayPal.com will no longer be ugly.

It wasn’t always easy for customers to manage their account at PayPal.com. The eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) subsidiary that made online shopping easier for millions, ended up with an antiquated website that was both unattractive and difficult to navigate.

The company today rolled out a sleek new design. The new look will be available to everyone in the U.S. within the next few weeks. The rest of PayPal users worldwide will be able to access the new site later this year, according to Vikas Bhatia, the company’s senior director of online marketing.

“Our old site focused more on the products and less on the way that our customers wanted to use our products,” Bhatia said in a statement. “As part of this renewed focus on the customer, we are making the login process as easy and intuitive as possible and have reworked the overall navigation of the site to ensure users can get to what they want quickly.”

Additionally, the company has simplified its menus to showcase its most popular offerings. It also eliminated information that customers found more cumbersome than helpful.

“We want our customers to feel like they can interact with us whenever they need us most and wherever they may be,” Bhatia continued. “And we want this interaction to be simple, secure and give them instant access to their money to enable them to accomplish whatever they want.”
