Sony (NYSE:SNE) is just more than a week away from the launch of its next big handheld console, the PlayStation Vita. The Feb. 22 launch marks the transition from the PlayStation Portable, and the primary competitor to Nintendo’s (PINK:NTDOY) 3DS.
In anticipation of the launch, here’s a quick look at its technical specifications, games and other notes:
- Cost: $250 (Wi-Fi only), $300 (Wi-Fi, 3G). Data plans available from AT&T (NYSE:T) are $15/month for 250 MB of data, $30/month for 3 GB.
- Screen: Touchscreen — 5 inches, 960 x 544 pixels, 16.7 million colors
- Graphics Processor: ARM Cortex 19 (quad-core)
- Features: Wi-Fi/3G, front/rear cameras, GPS sensor, accelerometer
- Memory: Flash-based. Memory card required for downloadable titles and other media. Cards start at $20 for a 4 GB card.
- Titles at Launch: 25. Includes titles like EA’s FIFA Soccer, Rayman Origins, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
