One of the biggest product mainstays entrenched in classic Americana has developed a surprising new bandleader. New Yorker Robert Suchan has taken the top sales spot in North America for Tupperware (NYSE:TUP) — a brand traditionally peddled by housewives.
But the twist isn’t that the sales leader is a he. It’s that he’s a she. At least in the garb.
Suchan is a drag queen — and an enterprising one, at that. Also known as “Aunt Barbara,” Suchan recently was profiled in a Daily Mail article discussing how wild parties and a personal flair have led to fantastic success, including $250,000 in sales for 2011 alone.
And last year alone, Aunt Barbara was responsible for shifting $250,000 worth of products for the legendary company.
A clip of Suchan’s colorful and energetic pitches as Aunt Barbara can be found below, with more available on his YouTube channel.
It remains to be seen whether Suchan will take on Avon (NYSE:AVP) next.
