Barnes & Noble App for iPad: Bookseller Barnes & Noble (BKS) said today its plans to release its bookstore and e-reading software for the iPad that would directly compete with Apple’s own iBookstore. Read more on Apple Insider.

Top Tech Support by Far: Yesterday, Consumer Reports published the results of its most recent tech support survey. Apple was by far and away the winner for both laptop and desktop help – winning 86 points on the Consumer Reports scale. The next-best showing was 23 points behind at just a 63 on the scale.

Jobs Dwarfed by Other Billionaires: The annual Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires put Steve Jobs’ net worth at $5.5 billion. That made him just the 136th richest person in the world. If it’s any consolation, Bill Gates is no longer #1.
